CCO Cervical Screening Awareness
Purpose
To raise awareness about cervical screening to anyone in the Sheridan College community who has a cervix. Typical cervical screening campaigns solely target women; however, there are many individuals with cervices that do not identify as such. The goal of this poster is to include all individuals that have a cervix, regardless of gender.

Research & Ideation
This project originated from the prompt of creating an inclusive poster about cervical screening for CCO for the Sheridan College campus. Research on cervical cancer was initially conducted and ideation began.
Rough Thumbnails
While creating quick and rough thumbnails, I focused on making illustrations that were inclusive and did not focus on gender.
Style Inspiration
During the rough thumbnail phase, I experimented with different styles. One iteration that contained a figure surrounded by abstract and vibrant shapes stood out the most, leading to me focusing on this style during the refined thumbnail stage.
Refined Thumbnails
After receiving feedback, I created several refined colour thumbnails for the piece that focused on the statement “don’t be left in the dark”. After more feedback from colleagues, I landed on the final idea for the illustration. A final digital illustration was created using Procreate, and the layout and type were finished in Photoshop.
